Torben, founder of Videohebel, first tested personalized videos while working in hospitality — aiming to make guests feel welcomed and valued even before they checked in.
The product worked so well that it inspired him to start Videohebel — an agency that enables businesses to use custom videos to connect with people in a more authentic, personalised, and human way.
How did this work for a cozy Berlin hotel? Let's check.
Hotels aim to exceed customer expectations while maintaining a human personal touch. But manually personalizing content is time-consuming and prone to errors. That’s why Torben built an automated pipeline that automates the process in three steps:
A scheduled cron job retrieves the next day’s reservations from the hotel’s property management system (PMS) and extracts the guest’s first and last name.
These names are sent to a cloud rendering tool, Nexrender, which generates personalized videos by seamlessly integrating each guest’s name into a pre-designed video template.
Once the videos are rendered, they are automatically sent via email. Each guest receives a beautiful email with a unique video link, building agitation for their stay and providing useful information.
The video begins with a welcome card, followed by a glimpse of the guest’s room, facilities, and the breakfast/dining experience.
Nexrender has been a game-changer in automating personalized videos. Its flexibility and seamless integration allowed us to render high-quality, custom videos at scale completely without manual intervention. This saves time but also enriches the guest experience in a way that wouldn’t be feasible otherwise.
